    We offer programs to support teachers in bringing real life examples to their students in a fun and interactive environment.

    Offering full course guides and support materials, the programs are organized for students to be able to self-navigate a day of learning through the park. Our programs have been offered since 1988, and over 100,000 students across BC have participated.

     

    Education Programs Pricing

    Students $19 No Season Passes accepted
    Teachers and Supervisors FREE *Over the age of 21

    *Maximum 1 complimentary adult for every 4 students. Additional adults are $21.75 each (tax included)

     

    Amusement Park Science (grades 8-12)

    These fun and interactive learning programs have been designed to enhance students’ understanding of Elementary and Secondary Science, Physics, Chemistry and Biology by demonstrating how these concepts apply to the world around them.

    Science of Fun (Elementary Program)

    The Science of Fun allows students to get out of their classroom and explore real
    life science applications. Based on the current curriculum, students need to be able
    to design an investigation from start to finish, this includes data collection, analyst
    of results and communicating a conclusion.

    Students self-navigate Playland in order to answer questions about the park’s operations. Questions are designed to get students thinking about the business aspect of running an amusement park and the factors that need to be considered when establishing its procedures and policies.

    *Elementary School groups receive one free supervisor per 6 students; Middle School groups receive one free supervisor per 8 students; Secondary School groups receive one free supervisor per 10 students; Additional supervisor are $25, tax included.

    Bring your School Group together for a Picnic in the Park (minimum of 50 guests)

    • 4 hours in one of our reserved picnic areas
    • Seasoned team of staff to pre, cook and clean throughout your event
    • 1 hour meal service from 12pm to 1pm
    • BBQ Buffet including Hamburgers, Chicken & Veggie Burgers, Hot Dogs, 2 types of Salads, fountain pop, mini cupcakes & chips

    Boxed lunch – additional $14 per person

    • 4 hours in one of our reserved picnic areas
    • Boxed lunches dropped off in your area for noon
    • Each boxed lunch comes with either a Turkey, Roast Beef or Veggie Sandwich, piece of whole fruit, bag of chips, bottled water and a cookie

  • Fright Nights

    Experience the scarier side of Playland by bringing your Grade 8-12s out to Fright Nights!

    Ride the Wooden Coaster or Canada’s most extreme pendulum ride – The Beast – in the dark.  Watch some of our fearsome performers and – if you dare – take a walk through one of eight haunted houses.

    Be warned, you can never be sure of what’s lurking in the shadows!
